4 Star Grasmere Hotel Master Chef retains ‘trusted services’ of Catering Partnership for over 30 years
For over 25 years Catering Partnership has worked with 4 Star Rothay Garden Hotel in Grasmere, providing advice, support, supply, installation and maintenance of their core kitchen equipment.
Originally built in the 1850’s as a private house, the six bedroom and one bathroom property that was to become Rothay Garden hotel was originally named Rothay Bank, being on the banks of the river Rothay.
Rothay Bank first became a hotel in the 1960’s and went through many guises before becoming the property it is today. 2008 saw the bold decision to close the hotel for six months for a major £3 million redevelopment which created 5 new loft suites and an atrium style foyer, contemporary redevelopment of all bedrooms and public rooms, development of new kitchens and staff facilities and a comprehensive upgrade of the hotel.
Master Chef of Great Britain (MCGB) Andrew Burton joined Rothay Garden Hotel in 1991. Prior to being appointed Head Chef at Rothay Garden Hotel, Andrew worked at the Wordsworth Hotel for 8 years and during that time, Catering Partnership provided regular kitchen equipment maintenance and repairs. Having established a strong working relationship in that time, Andrew brought Catering Partnership with him when he made the move to Rothay Garden Hotel and have worked together ever since.
Catering Partnership take care of the scheduled and reactive maintenance of the core kitchen equipment at Rothay Garden Hotel. The company has also been involved in the installation of equipment and occasionally asked to recommend and quote for replacement kit.
Andrew adds: “We’ve sometimes tried to find kit cheaper online, but have found Catering Partnership to be very competitive and have chosen them to supply equipment as well as install and maintain it. New kit usually comes with a manufacturer’s warranty, but once this expires we rely on Catering Partnership to service, maintain and repair thereafter.”
The combination of response times, product knowledge and the advice and support available from Catering Partnership has cemented the long term relationship with both Andrew and Rothay Garden Hotel.
Andrew summarised: “Over years, we have had other quotes for reactive and planned maintenance, but we are very happy with Catering Partnership. They are easy to communicate with, we know them and their engineers and we trust them. They have integrity and always do the best job that they can for us.”
