Catering Partnership provides ‘one-stop shop’ for Goat Gap Café
New independent roadside café chooses Catering Partnership for planning, supply, install and maintenance of bespoke kitchen.
Situated on the A65 at Newby in North Yorkshire, the Goat Gap Café was opened in March 2017 by owner Ed Hurst and his team.
Having spent 10 years prior in catering, Ed realised a long-term ambition of opening his own establishment, taking an opportunity to own and completely refurbish and redevelop a redundant roadside property.
Serving an eclectic mix of dishes, the café enjoys both regular trade as well as passing customers visiting the Lake District, Dales National Park and Forest of Bowland.
Prior to embarking on the new venture, Ed had already dealt with Catering Partnership during his time working in Penrith.
“I was familiar with Catering Partnership and the way they worked,” said Ed. “When I came to set-up Goat Gap Café, I was also recommended to talk to them about my new kitchen requirements by a colleague. I was impressed with their support and felt that they had my best interests at heart.”
Unlike some other providers that Ed spoke to at the time of planning his new business, Catering Partnership took the time to understand his individual requirements.
“The kitchen space was quite awkward to deal with, but Catering Partnership worked with us to make sure we developed a proper, workable scheme. This took a fair amount of time, expertise and effort to get right, but we are delighted with the results,” added Ed.
With a design and specification finalised and agreed with Ed, Catering Partnership supplied and installed the new kitchen.
“There was an issue at one point during the installation of the kitchen with respect to a counter, but the Catering Partnership team were quick to acknowledge and rectify,” said Ed. “The main benefit for me of working with Catering Partnership is having a single point of contact and a dedicated account manager that I can contact as and when required. Nothing is too much trouble, they are quick to respond and help resolve any issues that we have. I cannot recommend the team at Catering Partnership highly enough.”
Catering Partnership provides the complete service for commercial kitchens and laundries, including designing, planning, supplying, installing, servicing and maintenance. The company has been working with sports clubs, hotels, restaurants, pubs, cafes, schools, colleges, care homes, hostels and local authorities for over 40 years.
